3 Reasons for using ICT in early childhood classroom
The Advances in ICT & the Curriculum
Over the last 50 years, the use Information communication and technologies (ICTs) has increased largely, with new devices, communication tools and the internet that we now use apart of our everyday life. Living the the 21st century, early childhood teachers must acknowledge these changes and the changing ways in which our students are learning and continue to challenge them to enhance knowledge and shape their future. Major factors influencing change in education today is globalization, environmental and social pressures and the advances of information and communication and technology (ACARA, 2010).
The Australian curriculum and early years learning framework (EYLF) recognises these changes and the importance of ICT and therefore has implemented guidelines and policies regarding its implementation of effective ICT. Tait (2007) notes that the use of ICT in the educational setting are to prepare our current generation for their future and workplace.
