Inquiry-based learning is a learning and teaching tool which can be used across all learning domains, including literacy, the arts and more commonly it is used in science and mathematics. Inquiry-based learning is used to intensify student learning and foster deep thinking skills through questioning, exploring, hypothesising and problem-solving to construct meaning.
Teachers create, select and plan for problem-solving as a teaching strategy in their classrooms to challenge students learning. However research suggests that technology is a fundamental tool in facilitating inquiry learning and enhances children's higher order thinking and problem-solving skills. The use of computer and softwares in the classroom environment, develops and increases young children social, language, literacy, numeracy and cognitive skills. Therefore embedding technology across the curriculum provides unique experiences to broaden knowledge and enhance student's inquiry skills.
